Calistoga's restaurants range from haute cuisine to down-home barbecue, with a delicious array of choices in between. Almost all dining options are concentrated downtown and are easy walking distance from many hotels and b&b's. You can choose from Mexican, Italian, American Bistro, California Cuisine, authentic Southern Barbecue, Chinese, comfort food, gourmet deli, pizza,  perfect breakfast spots, healthy spa cuisine, and more. Impressive wine lists are plentiful. Calistoga's restaurants have been recognized by ZAGAT ratings, the Wine Spectator magazine, and the Michelin Guide. For sweet treats and high-test caffeine, there are ice cream parlors, coffee houses, and a superb European-style specialty bakery.

During the summer and fall, there are plenty of outdoor dining patios or sidewalk dining spots, some with a river or mountain view, and in winter, many restaurants have a cozy fireplace and comfortable ambience to ward away the chill. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends and holidays.
